Royal Netherlands Army Selects Titan Hookloaders From Hyva

Hyva, in cooperation with a Belgium bodybuilder, has been selected through a public tender to supply Titan hookloaders to the Royal Netherlands Army, the land forces element of the military in the Netherlands.

All Titan hookloaders will be mounted on Tatra Phoenix 8x8 or 6x6 trucks which have been selected for their excellent off-road capabilities. The 8x8 trucks with Titan hookloader and crane will be used by the Military Police whereas the 6x6 trucks with Titan hookloader will be supplied to the Dutch Defence Force.

These 18-ton Titan hookloaders (model T18-57-S), renowned for their robust and reliable character and low maintenance requirements, have been supplied with Hyva’s Magic Touch. This automated technology enables quick, safe and seamless loading and unloading of containers, flat racks and modules by any operator. Additional features as sliding, arm knuckling, container locking, rear collision bar and deployment of stabilization jacks are available with a simple touch command.

Joris Cockx, Sales & Product Manager Hyva Benelux explained: “For the rough off-road conditions, the Titan hookloaders have been equipped with both mechanical and hydraulic container locking to make sure the load is held in place at all times. Also, the hookloaders have been given an extra zinc layer treatment in combination with the factory applied end coat, in accordance with Army specification, to create a very high corrosion resistance”.

The hydraulic hook height adjustment enables the vehicles to transport containers from all different container norms in Western Europe, including the military STANAG* norm.

The Titan hookloaders have been supplied to the Royal Netherlands Army in three batches during the first quarter of 2021.
