ETHIOPIA

Project: 50MW Tulu Moye Geothermal Power Plant Project

The project entails the design, construction, commissioning and operation of a 50MW geothermal power plant under a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) scheme, and marks the first phase of the Ethiopian government’s plan to build cumulative generation capacity of 150MW by 2024. The project is expected to curb greenhouse gas emissions by over 10 million tonnes CO2 equivalent over its lifetime and will create around 600 jobs.


 

EGYPT

Project: Fayoum Wastewater Expansion Project

Stantec, according to the contract will be in charge of the design of infrastructure and wastewater treatment plants, procurement, and project implementation support, development of a training plan, capacity building, contract management, and construction supervision services.

The first phase of the program will see the expansion of sewer services in 119 underserved rural areas in Fayoum through the construction of four new wastewater treatment plants, expansion and rehabilitation of seven and 10 already existing plants, and decommissioning six more. The project will also include the construction of approximately 256km of new pressurized rising mains, 2,334km of sewer lines, and 100 new sewage pumping stations. This stage will increase access to sanitation to 75.6 percent and benefit over 700,000 people.

On the other hand, the second phase will benefit 41 more underserved villages, and it is projected to improve the lives of 240,000 more people and bring the total sanitation access in the regions to 86 percent.


 

EGYPT

Project: Construct Tourist and Cultural Hub

The project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will be executed in two years’ time while the second phase will be completed within 5 years. It involves the construction of two theaters, one of which will be an open air, development of cinemas, restaurants, markets, a handicraft center, plastics art galleries, multipurpose halls and studios with accommodations.

The project will be implemented at the site of Egypt’s decades long tannery complex which was situated in the Magra El- Oyoun Fence. The government recently announced that it had completed relocating all tannery workshops and factories in this area to the eastern Cairo region, giving way for the restoration of the archaeological site and its surroundings.


 

ZIMBABWE

Project: Construct 90MW Solar Plant
Value: USD 88,100,000
Client: Triangle Solar System (TSS)

Triangle Solar System (TSS) is set to build a 90MW solar plant in Chiredzi at a cost of nearly $90m after the project was approved by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA).

Zimbabwe is currently facing a shortage of electricity due to generation shortfalls and imports a significant amount of power mainly from neighbouring countries - Mozambique, South Africa and Zambia.

The Chiredzi solar power plant will be implemented in two stages of 45MW capacities each. The planned development site covers a total of 241 hectares of land at the 66km peg Ngundu-Tanganda road.


 

SIERRA LEONE

Project: Construct 150-bed Ultra-modern Teaching Hospital
Value: USD 52,500,000
Client: Ministry of Health

The hospital will house an outpatient department, private clinics, laboratories, teaching facility, maternity wards, pediatric wards, surgical wards and provide services for Endoscopy, Chemotherapy, Dialysis, IVF, etc.

The completion of the hospital will create over 600 jobs in the health sector and it is estimated to cost around $52.5m. The agreement for the construction of the hospital is on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) Model which means the EASI Construction and Trading Limited will provide the entire funding whilst Government provides the land.
