As the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) restarts events and business post the Covid-19 lockdown, the organisation has committed to using Neutral Fuels biofuel to power its distribution vehicles, forklift trucks and on-site generators. This is in keeping with its status as the only events venue in the Middle East to be certified by Green Globe, which sets the standard for sustainable tourism.
Vincent Egels, Director of Hospitality Operations for DWTC, said the organisation had a long-standing commitment to reducing its environmental footprint. ‘Improving our sustainability and reducing our environmental impact have long been among our most important priorities. We’re not only playing our part in supporting a greener future for Dubai but also in meeting the global sustainable development goals.’
Karl W. Feilder, innovative CEO of Neutral Fuels, said more organisations like DWTC should be moving to biofuel. ‘DWTC has been a driving force in developing Dubai as a leading global venue. They’re a significant part of making the city a distinctive and competitive global destination for the MICE sector and it’s fitting that they are turning to more sustainable fuelling options.’
Neutral Fuels offers a range of refuelling options and the one DWTC has chosen is a fuel tank installed on its premises. Neutral Fuels bespoke technology, such as the use of embedded IOT sensors, ensures that DWTC’s fuel supplies will never run out and there will be a full productivity audit trail for each refuelling. An embedded AI engine and cloud-based data portal capture details such as the ODO readings, hours worked and fuel dispensed, giving the DWTC management team full oversight of every drop of fuel consumed. Unusually, customers also gain unexpected operational advantages and cost efficiencies with their biofuel. The Neutral Fuels technology provides detailed insights into fuel consumption, enabling customers to reduce the amount of fuel they use.
